The Bible tells us of two great victories in this valley: 1) Barak’s victory over the Canaanites (Judges 4:15)
and 2) Gideon’s victory over the Midianites (Judges 7). Armageddon was also the site for two great
tragedies: 1) the death of Saul and his sons (1 Samuel 31:8) and 2) the death of King Josiah at the hands
               of Pharaoh Neco (2 Kings 23:29-30; 2 Chronicles 35:22).

At least thirty-four battles have occurred in and around this region as recorded in the Bible and historical
writings. It was here where the Crusaders fought four separate battles in the 12th century. Napoleon
himself called the Jezreel Valley the most natural battleground of the whole earth.

Because of this history, the valley of Armageddon became a symbol of the final conflict between God
and the forces of evil. The word “Armageddon” only occurs in Revelation 16:16, “Then they gathered the
kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.” This speaks of the kings who are loyal
to the Antichrist gathering together for a final assault on Israel.

               The End of the Antichrist

Rev. 19, 19-21 tells us what the conclusion of the Antichrist’s reign on earth:
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war
                                                                    20

false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the

that burneth with brimstone: and the rest were killed with the sword of him that sat upon the

Jesus Christ will come to earth as the nations seek to destroy Israel. He will return as He left, landing on
the Mount of Olives, which will split in response to His awesome power. He will destroy the armies
gathered to destroy Israel with His word. His coming actually is a rescue mission to save Israel and fulfill
His promise to rule the earth from the throne of David. At Armageddon “the cup filled with the wine of
