Integration
Integration is both the process of helping a person to become vitally connected to or to grow in his or her
connection to a local church for the purposes of ongoing encouragement and for accountability, and the process
of helping a person become a contributing part of his or her community.

The local church is God’s primary instrument for the care and discipleship of His people.

                • If at all possible, help should NOT be disconnected from the local church.
                • There may be cause to inform church leadership concerning a person’s problems.
                • The loving discipline of the local church may become necessary.

Everyone has a role to play in serving the church (Rom. 12:3ff).
                • We all need concentrated help from time to time, but we should strive to become givers as well as
                   receivers (Acts 20:35).
                • Applying the gospel to life will result in service (Matt. 20:26-28).
                • Serving others takes our focus away from ourselves and often aids in relief.

You are not seeking to simply solve problems but to help people restructure their lives (Col. 3:1-4:6).

Your goal should be to help the person learn to counsel him or herself (Rom. 12:2).

            12.4 Let’s Practice…

                     1. From where does a biblical counselor’s instruction come from?

2-4. In planning your instruction time with a client, what three things should be included?

            5. What is the goal of true instruction?

            6. Remember that the is the one who motivates.

            7. Define Implementation:
