Appendix C:  Repentance Worksheet


               1.  Acknowledge/ Admit
                   a.  List the specific ways you are tempted to think or feel that are sinful:


                   b.  List the specific ways you are tempted to act or not act that are sinful:



               2.  Confess (Agree with God about your sin)
                   a.  How has God called you to think or feel in this area? Do you wholeheartedly agree?


                   b.  How does God view your sinful attitudes, words, and actions? Is he right?


                   c.  Who is going to be held responsible for these attitudes, words, and actions? Is this the right/just
                       thing?


               3.  Godly Sorrow (Remorse, Contrition)
                   a.  Are you truly broken and sorrowful over your sin? (Matt 5:4) Or are you tempted to justify your sin
                       by making it “no big deal” or blaming others/circumstances?



                   b.  Are you seeing these as small issues or deadly serious issues? In what ways are you tempted to
                       justify your sin by diminishing its significance?




                   c.  Are you taking full ownership for your sin? In what ways are you tempted to blame others or your
                       circumstances for your sinful responses?




                   d.  When you are sad, are you sad for your own sake (because of impact on you) or are you truly sad
                       that you have dishonored the Lord and potentially hurt others?
