1.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…
We are all on a journey to eternity. Sometimes in our journey we get sidetracked into going
down wrong paths. It reminds us of Christian’s journey to the Celestial City in John Bunyan’s
Pilgrim’s Progress. Along the journey he took several detours, and every one cost him dearly.
Once he went to Vanity Fair, a city that promised him all of the pleasures of this world. He
found that the riches were vain and fleeting and did not bring happiness or satisfaction. They
were empty and vanished as fast as they came. So also, if we don’t have God’s view on managing our
wealth, we will find our journey empty. So the challenge is to commit your finances to the Lord.
Remember, all you have is HIS. It’s not yours. You are His manager. He only asks that we be FAITHFUL
stewards.
