WaveShop (Windows)
               WaveShop supports multi-channel audio (up
to 18 outputs) which could be useful in the
right situation. It also claims to be ‘bit-
               perfect’, so samples aren’t changed
               needlessly.

I can’t think of any more reasons why you
would want to use this over any of the other
editors listed here. But it’s worth taking a look
if you want a simple Windows application for
               basic audio editing.

                       9.4 Let’s Practice…

                      1. Which of these audio editors is the oldest of the free editors?

                      2. After reading about all these free audio editors, which one do you think you would like to use
                      in editing your audio files?

               9.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…

Activity: Download one or two of these audio editors. Find an audio file and bring it up on the
screen in your editor. Now see if you can create a FADE IN at the beginning of the sound file and
a FADE-OUT at the end of the sound file. Keep working with your files to alter the sound file or
perhaps improve it. Try to add a sound file to one of your Videos by altering a sound file, then
adding it into a video editor. Perhaps you could shoot a small family film. Then find a sound
track that you could edit to the length of your video. Then combine the two files using your video
editor. Before long, you will be making your own movies and become a producer!
