The Bible clearly teaches us that sex before a marriage commitment with a person of the opposite sex is
SIN. The Bible teaches that marriage is between a man and a woman for the purpose of mutual
enjoyment and for procreation. Here is God’s commandment:
I Corinthians 7:1-4 Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to
2
have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man
3
should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her
4
conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own
body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the
wife does.
If you are not married, you have no business touching and fondling a woman. God calls this sin and this
sin has GRAVE consequences. You are to restrain yourself and seek sexual purity. If you are committed
to a woman, then when you are married, you can enjoy each other as one with God’s blessings.
Dealing with temptation of sexual sin.
1. Realize you are being tempted to sin.
If you violate God’s standards in sexual behavior, you are clearly sinning against God and against the
other person’s body and against your own body.
I Corinthians 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sina person commits is outside the body, but
the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
If you willfully sin in this manner, you need to realize that sin has a consequence that you will definitely
pay. You will pay emotionally as you damage your mind and heart with your behavior. You will
remember for the rest of your life your willful rebellion against God. You will pay spiritually and lose
communication and fellowship with God.
You may pay physically, as venereal diseases are rampant in our society. Did you know that there are
over 20 different kinds of sexually transmitted diseases and many of them have no cure or can lead to
death? Twenty-six percent of the people in Africa ages 15-19 are infected with the AIDS virus. In
America, 15% of the population is infected with the AIDS virus and 68% of those are among homosexual
men. There were over 36.7 million people worldwide living with HIV/AIDS at the end of 2016.
Galatians 6: 7-9 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also
reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows

9
to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due
season we will reap, if we do not give up.
The old adage, “If you play with fire, you’re likely to get burned” certainly applies if you decide to defy
God and practice immoral behavior.
