6.4 Let’s Practice…

                       1. Why should Christians care for the poor?

                       2. Does the Bible permit wealth?

                       3. What is the Greek New Testament word for stewardship?

               4. In identifying the poor described in the Bible, R.C Sproul distinguishes at least four major categories
of poor people. Please list all four categories and give a brief description of each group:

               5. What passage in the Bible is discourages laziness?

               6. What is the most effective and biblical means for helping the poor?

               7. How Christians can make a genuine and lasting difference for the poor?

               8. What should be key motivating factor for giving to the poor?

               9. Does the Bible clearly establish that God cares for the Poor?

               10. Where in the Bible do we see the Church exemplifying giving by laying their gifts at the Apostles
               feet?

               6.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…

Describe the poverty in the area where you serve. Compare it with the poverty in nearby
regions. How serious is poverty in your area? What particular groups could you help?

Investigate local ministries that are involved in serving the poor in your community, and ask
how you or your church body can partner with them

Look at your budget. Are there any luxuries you can sacrifice in order to have more resources to give to
               those in need?

Which Passages of Scripture speak most powerfully directly to your circumstances?
