Use verses to illustrate that God loves us while we are sinners and that true love is
2
characterized by Jesus' sacrifice for us.3
o Emphasize the grace of God.
Point out that we aren't saved by our own works or deeds, but only through God's
grace through faith.4
o Gently correct Qur'anic misinterpretations about Jesus.
Point out that Jesus' signs signified that he is the promised divine Messiah.
• Isaiah 11 and 35 list specific signs that the Messiah would perform, and
Jesus fulfilled those prophecies.
Point out that the Bible also refers to Jesus as the "Word of God." Explain what that
means according to John's Gospel where Jesus the Word is portrayed as God.
Point out that Jesus was sinless and came to solve man- kind's sin dilemma.5
Emphasize that Jesus' death on the cross was not a defeat, but rather a great
victory!
• Jesus submitted to the cross.
• Sin and death were defeated after which Christ was resurrected.
• He is the only Way, the Truth, and the Life...the only way to salvation.6
• Salvation is found in no other name.7
o Share with Muslims individually.
Muslims in a group setting may feel the pressure to defend Islam but may open up
on a one-to-one basis.
Group evangelism has practically no success when sharing with Muslims.
Ask Your Muslim Friend to Read from the Gospels
Give your Muslim friend a copy of the New Testament and ask him or her to read through one of the Gospels.
Each Gospel is good for a different purpose.
• The Gospel of Luke is a great place to start.
o Luke contains themes the Muslim is familiar with.
The angel's announcement to Mary that she would bear Jesus.
The birth of John the Baptist.
o Luke contains many interesting stories and parables.
The story of Jesus calling Levi shows that Jesus accepts people who are considered
the worst of sinners.8
The parable of the lost sheep shows how God rejoices when a sinner repents, and
how God is the initiator in bringing lost people to himself.9
The parable of the lost coin shows how God seeks sinners and rejoices when they
turn to Him.10
• The Gospel of Matthew may have strong appeal because of some of the themes it addresses.
o Familiar themes in Matthew include:
Ritual prayer.
Fasting.
Almsgiving.
Social justice.
Marriage.
Divorce.
