Unmistakable
Nomvula Mashiyane
So many things are addressed by a love that was meant for you;
a love that loves you without ever having to explain why.
A love that speaks to the bottled up fears
that have been left behind by previous love experiences
that were never part of your puzzle,
and shines a light in the very dark places those fears dwell in.
A love that has the guts to let your insecurities know
they have overstayed their welcome;
a love that exists for the betterment of you.
It is this love that constantly chooses you
without you having to prove yourself;
the very love that crowns you as the Rule
when you have been an exception so many times.
It takes care to never let you harbour uncertainty,
taking it to bed with you
only to have it taunt these very insecurities and fears
that have been so carefully tamed.
You will know this love,
and it will heal parts of you
you never thought could be healed.
It will kiss your scars;
and you will never have to ask it to be anything
other than what it came to be;
Your refuge.
Your sanctuary.
Your land of milk and honey.
