Best Practices with Limited Patient Starters for Ozempic
1.Work closely with all office personnel to assure only 1 sample is given to a patient when initiating therapy
2.Coach all office personnel on the difference between an Ozempic sample and a Trulicity sample (6 weeks vs 1 week)
3.Staff in-services with demo pen trainings to assure everyone in the office knows exactly how to train a patient using a demo pen
4.Outfitting the entire staff with a demo pen and injection heart pillow
5.When appropriate, utilize the demo pen to train the patient and send the Rx to the pharmacy
6.Utilize vouchers when samples are depleted for both commercial and medicare patients. Patient should leave with a sample or a voucher; not both
7.Work closely with staff on patients with affordability issues to either have them register for LIS through the Social Security office or Novo Patient Assistance.
8.Coach entire office up on NovoCare and the different affordability options available
9.Print Flex sheets and distribute tailored to each office’s managed care landscape
