OUT OF HERESIES
O
MOST pitiful Lord Jesus Christ, true Light for
the enlightening of the Gentiles, we beseech thy
clemency that thou wouldst regard the
destruction of so many souls, which through the cunning
of the ancient serpent and the wiles of heretics have been
plunged in deep and utter darkness. Can it be, O most
merciful Jesus, that thou shouldst suffer those helpless
souls, which thou hast redeemed with thy own precious
Blood, to be deceived by the devil and subject to his
sway? Canst thou permit so many wretched souls to be
daily thrust down to hell for lack of the true faith?
Remember, O Christ Jesus, how many toilsome journeys
thou didst undertake for their salvation, and what

grievous stripes and wounds thou didst receive for their
redemption. We beseech thee, therefore, by the virtue of
thy most bitter Passion and death, that thou wouldst

heresies, and to convert the hearts of all hardened
heresies to thy true faith. Amen.
