  What to Pack
ESSENTIALS - It’s a good idea to carry at least a small amount of toilet paper in your camera bag at all times. Public toilets do not exist, we will use restaurant bathrooms.
All rooms are air-conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms.
A few more bits and pieces to consider:
• insect repellent – February is the dry season, so November shouldn’t be a problem, but just in
case
• a few clothes pegs and a short piece of thin line (rope) to hang clothes to dry in your room.
Getting laundry done on the road is difficult and as we don’t stay many places for consecutive nights it’s hard.
CLOTHING - Loose, light weight clothing is best. Clothes that are quick to dry are best. I wear shorts and a t-shirt every day. Shorts are easy, 3⁄4 pants are also good. I wear Teva trekking sandals almost every day and I also carry a pair of thongs (jandals) for around the hotel. And I bring some sneakers for when/if my feet get sore. A cardigan or hoodie will be useful as evenings can get cold especially on transport i.e., overnight train.
ELECTRICITY - Vietnam is 240 volts same as NZ, but uses several different plug styles. Types C & F are common, but other styles also exist. The best idea is to bring a multi adaptor for anything super necessary, and if you need an extra adaptor I can provide you with one or we can buy a few on the street – they’re cheap and readily available.
BAGGAGE - It’s always best to pack as light as you can.
We won’t be doing anything too adventurous on this trip. Also bring a camera bag/day pack for your gear each day, along with water and toilet paper.
USEFUL ITEM TO PACK - You never have enough USB A & C power connections, this is an excel- lent buy and one that Women in Photography recommends .
Level of Fitness
A general level of fitness is required to carry your camera backpack for an extended time. There is no strenuous exercise on this tour, other than regular walking and flights of stairs to rooftop restau- rants and photographic vantage points. While this tour is held in one of the cooler months, it is still hot - temperatures can reach 30 degrees.
