Definite articles are certain articles which are in the form of the

article 'the' and are used in certain forms of words only. Meanwhile,
indefinite articles are using the articles 'a' and 'an' which mean sebuah.

B. Material Description

The definite article is an article that functions to describe a specific
object. There is only one indefinite article, namely "the". We can use "the"

for plural, singular or uncountable nouns. "The" is used if both the speaker
and listener have the same reference to something that is being discussed

more specifically.

Indefinite article is an article that functions to explain an object

that is being mentioned for the first time or is not specific. There are three
indefinite articles in English. “A” and “An” for singular nouns and “some” for

plural or uncountable nouns.

1. Definite Articles

The word "the" is a word that is
included in the definite articles. This

article is used to show a noun that
has a clear, definite, and only form.
The noun in question is usually also

known by the speaker and recipient
of the information. Example: The red
bag , The bowl , The sky , The girl ,
The mall

In English, we know the name of the article. The article functions to provide a

description of the noun whether the noun is specific or not. There are two types of
articles, namely definite and indefinite articles.
