of device or tool. What is that thing, Bob?”
“Technically, it’s for sifting or straining. A colander? Do any of
those work? ‘Extensifter’. ‘Extenstrainer’. ‘Extencolander’.” He
shook his head. “No, must be yet another word. It’s a, ah—oh, of
course: a sieve!”
“Right,” said Lulu. “I will continue. ‘F’ plus a couple of crenellated
structures. They must be forts. ‘Efforts’. Then the numeral ‘4’.”
Bob went for a cookie before tackling the next pair of pictures.
“That is a necktie, no question. Plus a leg with an arrow pointing at
the knee. ‘Tiny’. And the line ends with a word spelled out: ‘gain’.”
He began working on line thirteen and an aurochs simultaneously,
proud of his ability to multitask.
