The Old Observatory
The intruders were nowhere to be seen
In the light of two dim bulbs glowing green;
The telescope was set up for viewing—
These trespassers knew what they were doing.
I edged along the rim to the top rung
Of a metal ladder rigidly hung
Right on the inner cylindrical wall,
And went down slowly to avoid a fall.
