Having at last arrived at the place he recalled, he could find no trace
of his family. Frustrated, he trampled the underbrush, snorting and
bellowing. Too late his flapping ears registered the sound of overhead
engines and propeller blades: he looked up in time to see two flying
machines collide directly overhead, their flaming debris falling upon
him like twin collapsing pillars.
