We saw a
Picture of
Two starfish
Face to face,
Limbs entwined.

Said my friend,
“See how they
Are fighting?
They’re just like
Humankind.”

I said, “They’re
Making love.”
He told me
I had a
Dirty mind.

What I thought

I thought my powers
No more to be sought;
But I was losing
My powers of thought.
