Resolving the Mechanalog Ambiguity
“No,” said Krif. “It must be bintillium.”
Kaga glanced at the Hurgan. Was he imagining it, or was Krif
beginning to show emotion? His insistence on one trade item did not
seem to Kaga to follow either the spirit or the letter of PKU
negotiation policies. Of course, Kaga was only a trainee; but still…
The king was speaking. “Please try to understand our situation,
Colonel. Without the backup process, our survival would be
endangered. Surely you can use some other Mazinozan resource just
as easily?”
Krif stood up. “It will be bintillium, one way or another. I advise
you to sign the agreement as soon as possible. A mining freighter will
arrive here in less than one day’s time to extract and transport the
first load of bintillium. When you have reconsidered, send one of
your ministers to our base to formalize the deal. I will not be coming
back here. Let’s go, Captain Kaga.”
“No,” said Krif. “It must be bintillium.”
