At least the worst you can expect is a letter home to your parents. Punishments could be very strict in ancient Egyptian schools.
One ancient Egyptian proverb reads:
So that’s doubly bad news. First you have ears on your back, which is just weird and means it’s very difficult to hear when you’re wearing a jumper. And then your scary teacher bops your back-ears with a big stick to help you learn!
But it´s not my fault the dog ate my homework!
  “A boy´s ear is on his back; he hears when he is beaten.”
If you think the punishments in lessons sound bad . . .
. . . even if you were playing games with your pals, if you broke the rules the punishment could be a bop on the nose, a sharp kick or two or even being tied up and thrashed.
Not exactly your average game of rounders.
Sob!
Perhaps we should stick to Monopoly from now on?
