They took Mr Craven into the Secret Garden, where lilies and roses welcomed him into a golden temple of autumn trees.
“I thought it would be dead,” he whispered.
“I thought so too,” said Mary, “but it came alive! So did Colin! Our Secret Garden isn’t secret any more . . . but that’s all right. In fact, everything’s very all right, don’t you think?”
