[CHAP HEAD]Chapter two What Rabbits Love Best
 Bea reached for the rabbit, hoping to lure her out of the bush, but a lorry roared past and the bunny dived back into the undergrowth again. Bea straightened up. “It’s a little rabbit with beautiful golden fur,” she told Keira. “I’m sure it isn’t wild animal! It’s not frightened of me at all. It’s just scared of all the loud noises on the street.”
Keira nodded, keeping a tight hold of Rosie’s lead. “Do you think it escaped from somewhere?”
“I don’t know. Maybe we should ask someone.” Bea looked around the busy street. “Excuse me!” She stopped Mr Tillings from the fishmonger’s. “Do you know if anyone’s missing a rabbit?”
Mr Tillings looked surprised. “No, I don’t think so! Sorry, Princess Bea – I’m in a terrible hurry with this delivery.”
They stopped Mrs James, the dentist, and then Mr Owusu, who worked in the harbour office, but neither of them had heard of anyone looking for a rabbit. Between them, Bea and Keira stopped a dozen people but no one knew anything about a lost bunny. Everyone seemed really busy and no one offered to stop and help.
“What shall we do?” asked Keira. “We can’t just leave the poor thing under that bush.”
Bea wrinkled her forehead. “Maybe there’s a way to coax it out.” She glanced at Rosie, who was sniffing the shopping bag with her treats inside. “I know! All we need is something that rabbits love to eat.”
