            Who doesn’t love the seaside on a hot summer’s day? Even if you can’t swim, perhaps you could find some rock pools to explore? The best time to do this is at low tide on a calm day when the sea has gone out and left water behind in the dips and hollows between the rocks. There’s a lot to see in these miniature underwater worlds, so make sure you take your nature notebook with you – and try not to drop it in the water! Take a net and a bucket, too – that way you can take a closer look at some of the sea’s minibeasts.
Remember to always be kind to the creatures you find and return them to their rock-pool homes after you have looked at them.
