On 2 July 2007, Baroness Warsi was made a peer. She had been the first female Muslim to attend government Cabinet Meetings. At her first meeting in Downing Street she wore a traditional South Asian salwar kameez (a loose-fitting tunic and wide-legged trousers).
50 years ago . . .
On 1 July 1972, the first Gay Pride Rally took place in London. People gathered to raise awareness of the need for everyone to be treated the same. The movement is now called Pride to include all LGBT+ people.
