 After the flowers have gone, the plants will start to grow tiny new pumpkins.
Look after your pumpkins as they grow. If they are lying on their side, turn them very gently every so often to help them grow in an even shape. You can also slide a bit of cardboard underneath them to stop them rotting or getting eaten by hungry bugs.
Your pumpkins are ready to pick when they are bright orange and the outer skin (called a rind) is hard. If you press your fingernail into the pumpkin, the rind should be strong enough for your nail not to break it.
Maybe they’ll even come in handy to take Cinderella to the ball!
