If you are at the seaside, pick a spot close enough to the sea to fetch water easily, but far enough away to keep you and your castle safe from surprise waves!
Make sure your sand is nice and wet. The sand should be soaked but not slushy.
Dig a moat around the space for your castle and fill it with water.
Build up the walls of your castle by scooping and packing sand into the shape you want.
To build your towers, pack your bucket firmly with sand, right up to the top and a bit beyond – if you leave empty space, your tower will crack and crumble.
Spectacular Sandcastle
Building sandcastles is one of the best summer activities ever! But if you can’t get to the seaside, you can make one in a sandpit in your local park or at home.
