Fantastic Bird Feast
A fun, easy way to bring birds to your garden or balcony is to make a bird feeder – especially in winter when they need tasty treats!
You will need:
Fold the first piece of wool in half.
Wrap the ends around the width of the pine cone (not too close to the top) and tie them into a double knot.
This will be the loop for hanging up your bird feeder.
Use a spoon (or your hands, if your pine cone isn’t too prickly!) to smear peanut butter all over the pine cone, until it is thickly coated.
Sprinkle a handful of bird seed on to a plate or flat surface. Roll the pine cone in the bird seed until it is covered with seeds.
Fold the second piece of wool in half, then thread it through the loop that you previously tied to your pine cone.
Tie the ends of the new loop together around a sturdy branch or bar, wrapping it round a couple of times before tying a tight double knot.
Now go back inside and wait for the birds to come and nibble this tasty treat! Who will turn up today?
