“Hello, Max! I want you to meet Hugo the hedgehog; he’s new to the zoo.” Zoe took Hugo down from her shoulder.
Max gave a cheery yelp.
Hugo looked at Zoe and squeaked. “He’s asking if he can see you burrow,”
said Zoe.
The little meerkat hopped off the log
and started digging a hole in the sandy ground with his back feet.
“Hey!” Meep cried as a cloud of
sand covered him.“First it was raining leaves, now it’s raining sand.”The lemur grumbled and hopped back up on to Zoe’s shoulder.
Hugo giggled.
