“I know they’re very big, but they won’t
hurt you,” said Zoe.“All the animals here are really friendly.”
Hugo peeked at the panda twins again and then made a friendly clicking noise.
Zoe carried on along the winding footpath through the zoo.The air was filled with the excited chatter of her classmates.
Hugo grunted a question in her ear.
“Yes, there are always lots of children at the zoo, but today there’s even more
– my class are visiting!” Zoe explained. “They’ve come to find an animal to adopt for the year.We’ll learn about the animal in class and come to visit it every term.”
