 Ants were also bad news. Again, enemies were thought to bury a ‘bad object’ under the floor and it would turn into a nest of ants which would swarm all over the house and kIlL ThE OwNeR! Which is why you should never trust an ant in a bad mood. Dangerous things.
Frogs were eaten by the Aztecs, but if one was put inside the home by someone who meant ill it could bring BaD lUcK. Of course, being eaten by an Aztec was considered very bad luck among the frog community, so it probably balanced out in the end.

   Do you ever wish . . . people were much more relaxed about crying?
It’s absolutely fine to have a little sniffle – maybe you’ve seen a sad movie about a snail who gets lost or you’ve just caught a whiff of your dad’s smelly feet or whatever. But people always seem to act a bit weird around folk having a good old blub.
If you were an Aztec, however, it was all the rage! ‘Ritual weeping’ was a big thing back then. Not because they were sad – although it was fine to do it then too – but often when they were asking someone for something or if they’d do something for them.
OK, OK – I´ll do your homework for you. Sheesh!

When they were happy, the Aztecs would be super tearful. To give thanks for something important meant getting the hankies out. Something to remember next time you get that new video game you’ve been waiting for. Start wailing and rolling about on the floor to show just how happy you REALLY are!
