Sometimes it can be a real drag being told what to do all the time. Comb your hair! Tidy your room! Eat your greens!
Or even WORSE: Comb your room! Tidy your greens! Eat your hair!
There always seems to be someone above you, laying down the rules. Why can’t they just GeT OfF yOuR cAsE, maaaaaan?
But if you think YoU’vE GoT iT BaD, at least your mum, dad or teachers don’t throw LiGhTnInG BoLtS around or have lEgS lIkE A gOaT – although Ms Krankhammer the head teacher alWays wears trousers – so it’s kind of hard to be sure . . .
The ancient Greeks had a whole load of gods keeping an eye on them – and they could be doWnright odd at times.
While the Greeks believed their gods had great powers, they also thought they had human qualities. Not only did they fall in love and get married, they also had children, sometimes with normal MoRtAlS (that’s what you are, in case you were wondering). They also fell out with each other, big style.
The highest mountain in Greece, Mount Olympus, was believed to be the home of the gods.
