slum An area of a city where very poor people live, with bad housing and crowded and unhealthy living conditions.
strike A protest in which people refuse to attend school or work in order to join demonstrations to demand action on a particular issue.
sustainable A way of doing an activity that will not use up natural resources or damage the environment.
United Nations (UN) An international group of countries, formed in 1945, which aims to promote peace and security in the world, establish friendly relations between member countries, support human rights and uphold international law through cooperation and mutual respect.
upcycle To repair

or material to make something more valuable or fashionable.
vegan A person who does not eat or use animal products such as meat, milk, honey or wool.
