Mountain species often have thick, woolly coats to keep them warm.
Some mountain animals have specially designed feet, to keep their balance on the rocky mountainsides. Even the plants in mountain areas are specially adapted to keep them out of the wind.
When new mountain roads are built, they allow loggers, poachers and miners to travel to areas that are normally very difficult to get to. New roads can also cause erosion to the steep mountain edges. Some mountain habitats are also being destroyed by the human wars that are taking place on their slopes.
