                        Lifepath Remembrance
Emmanuel Church, Huddersfield Road, Barnsley
Five workshops running throughout October and November for each local school.
Lifepath Remembrance aims to educate children about life during the First World War and the years immediately after. Each workshop will be aimed at children in Year 4 to look at different aspects of people’s lives 100 years ago.
During November there will also be a special service for the whole community celebrating the heroes specifically of the First World War.
THURNSCOE REMEMBERS
– POPPY INSTALLATION
Thurnscoe
Poppies each containing the name of a solider will be located on lamp posts from Thurnscoe East, down to Clayton Lane to represent the 106 servicemen from the area who never returned from the First World War.
A project ran by MacCabes Undertakers, Thurnscoe History Group and British Legion members.
1918: THE GREAT WAR ENDS

Marking the centenary of the end of the First World War, this exhibition tells the story of the final few months of 1918. Visitors will be able to view real life stories from local soldiers who fought in the First World War and discover what local war memorials tell us about The Great War.
