DAY 27: GOD WITH US

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and
the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

November 2021: Wilma has been using the assistive
communication device, TOBII S13, with programmed
personalized vocabularies. Her speech therapists noted that
Wilma generally did well during her sessions.

Sometimes, she seemed unresponsive and not as interactive
during the visits. There would be times when she seemed
rather sad, and there were times when she would laugh, even
laugh really hard. She would laugh at jokes or funny videos
and pictures, and sometimes even with random comments.
She would oblige when asked to close her eyes. Her
response/reaction time would be rapid, just like in any
normal interaction. By large, her disposition remained
positive.
December 2021: Wilma was transferred to the respirology
unit at Victoria Hospital for respiratory issues. Before the
transfer, she was being treated at Parkwood for suspected
pneumonia, her third incidence in the last two months. But
unlike the previous incidents, her temperature won’t go
down even after being administered a stronger antibiotic.
Hence, I decided to have her transferred.
