DAY 26: THE LORD, OUR MAKER
“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel
before the Lord our Maker.”
Psalm 95:6
March 2021: Exactly a year ago, 911 was called, and Wilma
was taken by an ambulance and brought straight to the
hospital. She has not been home since then. She fought one
medical condition (and crisis!) after another. She suffered
from locked-in syndrome, and her communication was
mostly limited to answering yes or no questions. Wilma
cried, laughed, and reacted during interactions. She
responded to commands and instructions the best she could.
Her progress had been generally slow. But she had come a
long way compared to where she was from a year ago. Her
indomitable spirit and resolute faith in God refuse to be held
hostage by her physical condition and limitations.
“We try to keep her going, but I do admit that there have
been many times that it's her who keeps me going. I want to
express my deepest and sincerest gratitude to everyone of
you who has diligently and tirelessly prayed for Wilma and
us, her family. Thanks for your generous expressions of love
and concern for her welfare and ours. You have made our
journey a lot easier and the burden more bearable. May God
bless you all richly,” states Perry.
June 2021: Ontario province was placed on strict lockdown
two months ago due to covid. Hospital visits and window
visits have also been shut down. Six weeks later, the family
