“We had a chat with the infectious diseases doctor that's
looking after Wilma. She gave us a general picture of how
Wilma is and could be as plainly and directly as she could.
Even though I found her quite tactful, she did pose some
very tough questions for us to seriously consider. To say it
was a difficult conversation to be heard is an
understatement.”
“To cut our long conversation short, it centered largely on
Wilma's pressure ulcer. She said she was worried for Wilma
because she doesn't think her bed sore will heal. Thus, her
wound would continue to remain open, and her bone would
be exposed. Infection will be a continued cause for major
concern. This can prove to be fatal, given the resilient nature
of bacteria. She thinks that Wilma is at the halfway mark in
her fight against infections. Given Wilma's condition, the
doctor thinks that we're not on the winning side.”
“The doctor's prognosis is based on facts and medical
science. I don't find her at fault for doing so. But I choose to
see Wilma’s condition through the eyes of faith.”
“Four months ago, we were told by the doctors that Wilma
was losing her fight against covid and that her passing away
was very much imminent. She beat that prognosis. About
three months ago, her doctor told us that she wasn't going to
regain consciousness. Again, she beat that prognosis,”
narrated Perry.
Prayer:
Lord, You are in control, and all things work together for
good and for Your glory. We surrender to Your perfect will
and eternal purposes with confidence and joy in our hearts.
You act with supreme authority and absolute power to do
what pleases You. Give us a heart that is united to Your
heart, knowing that You are Sovereign in all things – over
our abundance and famine, our health and sickness, and life
and death. You are our YHWH Adonai!
