THE SHOUT OF THE KING
DAY 2
ANGELIC VISITATION
A
ngels are ministering spirits. They exist in God's
presence, yet God sometimes sends or commands
them concerning us. In Psalm 91:11-12: “For he
shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy
12
ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash
thy foot against a stone.”
Let's now look at some of the people angels visited in Bible
times and what happened to them:
1. Angel visited Jacob
An angel visited Jacob, and his name was changed from
Jacob to Israel, symbolizing a change of identity and victory
in life. Genesis 32:24-28: “Then Jacob was left alone; and a
Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now
25
when He saw that He did not prevail against him,
He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s
26
hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said,
“Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let
You go unless You bless me!” 27 So He said to him,
“What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” 28 And He
said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob,
but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men,
and have prevailed.”
