to those on the platform, and he comes to the conclusion
that in order for her to live the life of her dreams, she
need only engage in conversations with a select group
          of high-valueindividuals.

However, it all falls apart because she creates a world
in which she is so inauthentic that, instead of receiving
a higher rating, she ends up receiving a lower rating
on each subsequent encounter she has, mostly due to
circumstances and situations beyond her control, as
people see right through her inauthenticity with every
          interaction.

It’s an uncanny and parallel representation of the social
media-driven world we live in today. It’s how we try to
get other people to respond and like what we want, by
projecting our own desires onto them.
This highlights the dangers of measuring our self-worth
based on the opinions and assessments of others. Now-
a-days,it seems like much of our lives are influenced by
          those we follow and value on social media platforms;
frequently, these are celebrity figures whose social score
is projected as higher in our minds due to the lifestyle
they project on these platforms. Those with high ratings
tend to receivehigh ratings from others and, as a result,
form and remain members of social groups with similar
          ratings.

Is this something you’ve heard before? It’s the human
condition, and it can be seen in society with or
without social media, and it’s influenced by a person’s
socioeconomic status. The more privileges and
opportunities they have access to, the better.
