SOCIAL MEDIA AND YOU
Thereasonfor this requireslittle mental effort to deduce.
You can only seethe highlights of other people’slives that
have been meticulously curated on social media, which
you can then contrast with your own shortcomings. The
practice of judging oneself in relation to others is one
of the surest ways to induce feelings of anxiety and
dissatisfaction, and the rise of social media has only
facilitated this tendency.
The question is, how can you use social media without
causing yourself emotional distress? According to the
same study (as well as good old-fashioned common
sense), the amount of time you should spend on social
media each day should be around half an hour. The key,
as with many other potential problems that may arise in
life, is moderation.
If you notice yourself becoming depressed after using
social media, consider the networks you use as well as
the peopleyoufollow. Politics and doomsday predictions
are far more likely to make you nervous than music
videos from your favorite artists.
15. Cyberbullying
Bullying could only occur in a direct confrontation with
the victim prior to the adventof social media. Individuals,
on the other hand, can now harass others online, whether
anonymously or not. In today’s world, everyoneis aware
of what cyberbullying is, and most of us have seen the
harm it can cause to an individual.
