SESSION 11 : Song of Songs Chapter 4:12-16 & 5:1 (AMP)

Nowadays, we have so much to distract us from living for His eyes

only. To our own detriment, most of what takes us away from walking
intimately with Jesus is of no eternal value whatsoever.

In the book of Numbers 19:15, we read: “And every open vessel, which
has no covering fastened upon it, is unclean.” (KJV)

When we neglect our relationship with Christ, we end up with a weak

connection to the One who is our absolute life source and lose the
strength of His covering. This, in turn, opens us up to adverse worldly

influences that war against our souls and negatively impact the
sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit within us.

The Lord is jealous for us and wants us to desire Him first and foremost
in our lives. This is not only for His delight and benefit, but also

because He knows that only when we constantly draw near to God will

we be assured of our spiritual safety, security, survival, and growth.

As I meditated further on verse 12, I was reminded of the story of

Goshen. This, too, was like a garden enclosed and barred to the outside
          world. Let me explain...

Some of you may be familiar with this word, as it refers to an actual

location mentioned in the Bible. Firstly, in Genesis 45:10 (NKJV):

“You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me—

you and your children, your children’s children, your flocks and your
herds, and all that you have.”
