I want to go a little deeper into this and make sure you fully

understand what type of book you can and should sell to have
the most successful business possible. There are two types of

books in the World, fiction and nonfiction. Fiction books tell

stories, they entertain, evoke emotion and tantalize our

imaginations. Nonfiction books are entirely different, they
educate and expand our minds with new ideas and ways of

looking at the World. I know this is a simplification of the power

of books, but it works for this illustration.

What type of book should you be selling? As I mentioned

before, I’ve sold a ton of books in my career. No seriously, if you

stacked them all up and weighed the books I’ve sold it would be
many metric tons worth of paper. And that’s not including all of

the digital books that weigh nothing.

I’ve found the most success selling books that do one thing.
They solve specific problems for specific people. I’ll use an

example of a book that teaches how to grow beautiful roses

here. That is exactly the type of book I’m talking about.

A book that teaches people who have an interest in growing

roses—but don’t know how to do it already or want to

improve—is exactly the type of book that will sell very well. The
aspiring rose gardeners out there have a specific desire. They

want to grow beautiful roses. They have a specific problem,

they don’t know how to grow beautiful roses yet. A book can

easily solve their problem and fulfill their desire. That’s what
makes a book successful using the business model I’m about to
