Destination Dyer County!
“Dyer County is a great destination for the entire region around us. We have our new shopping center (The Columns), we have a great Walmart Super Center, various local shopping centers, and a wonderful Kroger’s, not to mention all the family boutiques in our community.
“We also offer a variety of hardware and farm stores. We have a great Lowe’s, Tractor Supply— for farm and animal needs— and two agricultural- based co-ops.
“Not only do we have great places to shop, but
we also have a wide range of eateries. We have nice restaurants like Abe’s Ribeye Barn, The Blacksmith’s Restaurant, Musto’s Italian Restaurant, several great Mexican restaurants, and many fast- food restaurants, as well. We also have a recently modernized all-time favorite Chick-fil-A.
“In addition to having plenty of places to shop and restaurants to eat in, we also have many quality-of-life and family recreation spots to enjoy
here in Dyer County. We have a great Farmers Market, River Park walking trail, Great
River Road scenic drive, the Mississippi River, Okeena Park walking trail, Activity Center, Dixie Youth Ballpark, and a riding arena, where we hold many different types of events. Dyer County boasts the number one fair in the state, and will soon be home to a new event center. Come and enjoy yourself in our community and enjoy the many things we have to offer. Then, you too will make Dyer County a regular Destination in your life.”- David Quick, Dyer County Mayor
“Dyer County has so much to
offer, from riding the Amtrak in Newbern to exploring and shopping in beautiful Historic Downtown Dyersburg. There is so much to see and do that a visit might make you want to stay!”- Pam Mabry, City of Newbern Mayor
“Dyer County is a great destination location for several reasons. A couple of reasons that stand out
to me are the great employers
and opportunities provided, and
all of the great schools. Overall, it is a great place to live and raise
a family, especially in a small community like Trimble which has one of the best elementary schools around.”-Ben Sturdivant, City of Trimble Mayor
”I’ve had the opportunity to meet many new families and individuals over the past few years that have moved to Dyersburg. After welcoming them to our area, I ask what the attraction is to
our community. While not surprised as to their reasons why, it’s refreshing to hear from these new residents those reasons that validate the many things that we as a city have done and are doing to make Dyersburg a destination.
“These include affordable housing, low taxes, a lower cost of living than where many have moved from, a family-oriented community, local history and culture, and recreational opportunities that include hunting and fishing locations. We also have two great school systems.
“In addition, the city has Dyersburg State Community College, outstanding health care, and is situated in a location conducive to ease of travel. We also have community organizations where many people are involved and a Dyersburg Recreation Department, which provides youth sports programs, beautiful parks, and swimming pools.
“At the Forked Deer River Park, there is a dog park, splash pad, playground, and walking trails. In south Dyersburg, we have the new 9-field Dyersburg Soccer Plex and uptown, we have the new Dyersburg Commons Shopping Center with 19 retail stores. This is in addition to many other retail shopping locations, a vibrant Downtown area, and a diverse mix of manufacturing plants, which provide many employment opportunities and a low unemployment rate.
“The city also offers impressive services provided by its various departments along with abundant water, wastewater, and gas utilities that are conducive to future growth. We as a city are committed to providing additional amenities which will continue to improve our quality of life to remain a destination location.” -John Holden, City of Dyersburg Mayor
