Getting started:
Identify groups who shall be served through Workforce, Education and Health Programming:
• Individuals
• Families
• Faith-based Communities
Determine internal/external linkages and build upon the commitment and investment that is already in place:
• Is there a ministry in place that provides support services such as day-care, health, emergency assistance, transportation, housing assistance, and special counseling? (Refer to partnership form).
• Is there a system in place that provides information about jobs and health awareness?
• Is training and development available to members of the FBO or denomination who show a need
and desire?
• Is there an opportunity to partner with existing Workforce Development and Health/Wellness opportunities?
Ascertain the cultural readiness for a workforce development/education or health ministry. A culture ready environment may be exemplified in the following ways:
• Easy access to information and information is publicized
• Creativity and innovation
• Training and development is valued
• Leadership is supportive
• Teamwork is obvious
• Environment is adaptable to new technology, new directions and opportunities
