STRATEGIES FOR UNDERSTANDING CONDITIONAL SENTENCE ITEMS
Conditional Sentences means imaginary sentences. There are three types of
conditionals as shown in the following table.
Please read the explanation and the examples, and understand the sentence
patterns!
In a conditional sentence, there are two clauses, they are:
• If clause (requirement). This clause is called requirement or condition
that must be fulfilled or available. This Clause is called dependent clause.
• Main clause (main sentence). This clause will happen in the future time if
the requirement (if clause) is fulfilled or available. This clause can stay
alone in the sentence (independent clause).
1. Future Possibility/Possible Conditional
If clause: Simple Present Tense ( S + Verb 1 )
Main clause: Simple Future Tense ( S + Will + Verb 1 )
