It is important to understand that time may play a part one way or another. In some cases, people receive an immediate answer. In others, the answer may come by waiting and being aware of what “bubbles up.”
Or, you may go to sleep with a question and pay attention to dreams and how you feel as you wake up. Often an answer will come in one of the ways described above.
I don’t believe a person can force authentic intuition. When it comes, it comes.
One can, however, constantly ask and listen. HeartMath describes a powerful process for asking.
One can develop their intuitive sense the same way they might develop their thinking function – through intention, education and repetitive use.
Another way to look at a strong intuitive function is information that constantly pops into your head. It can be a curse or a gift depending on how the information is applied.
Another way that intuition shows up is synchronicity.
I receive an intuitive direction, think about following it or begin to follow it and find all kinds of external signs (experiences) that pop up in my life to authenticate the direction.
Summary
Intuition is a mental input that gives you a glimpse of the future. That input is available to you and can be very real depending on your openness to listening to your intuition.
There are three types of intuition: Past, present, future. Past and present are easily understood and their results can be explained. Future intuition, the ability to predict a future event, is real, however we have not yet fully understood how it occurs.
It helps to understand the intuitive mind by understanding its opposite – the rational mind. An easy exercise can give you a glimpse of how
