By the way, my son’s business has improved dramatically as now, in his weekly team meetings,
his first question is: “What did we do well this week?” And then moves into a report for the week highlighting his key performance indicators and
asking how these indicators might improve.
He also has a bell that is rung when a big order comes in or some other positive event occurs. His business is well ahead of goal on the two controllable indicators - revenue and cost of goods sold.
The team doesn’t ignore the errors. Mike just frames the discussion to achieve their desire for error free work. Not, “what did we do wrong, but rather how can we do more things right?”
Doug has some interesting stories where he has used intuition in life threatening situations. Doug has developed his intuition and intellect to the point where the question and answer are nearly unconscious to him. He enters a situation and responds with the information his intuition provides.
