We attended the same church and I was starting a company, Service Impact, a consulting organization. We would go into companies and facilitate a process where the company employees would invent and subsequently deliver extraordinary service.
I was looking for facilitators to help us draw creative solutions out of front-line employees.
Sandra agreed to come to our facilitator training and quickly outdid me in her ability to draw great thinking from people. We worked together for over ten years, while she maintained her family practice. Over the years, we worked with Harley Davidson, Lincoln National Insurance, West Allis Memorial Hospital, Larson-Juhl and many others.
She remarried and divorced the second time, had a brain tumor and went through a number of very difficult and traumatic experiences.
All of that pales by comparison with the following life experience. The essence of this story is using internal guidance to move through the difficulties in life without having to build protective walls to avoid more pain.
