While writing this book, I had started a company dentalShift. This is a concept where small (1 to 9 people) business owners in the same business come together online to resolve common challenges using a proprietary process I had developed.
The first group we started with were dentists. After several meetings and some great results, we only had three doctors in our first group. As we invited other doctors to join, they wouldn’t show up. Then we had a meeting we had to postpone because two of the doctors were tied up with patients.
I had to rethink what we were doing and ask my intuition for some direction. I simply stated the issues that were causing negative reactions and then went around the wheel.
The final statement: I want to create a process where the dentist has control, but the process has his or her staff run the business.
By the time I was done, I had great direction. We changed the process and the company is now doing very well as dentalShift.
