Simple Breathing Meditation
I have found that one of the best meditations is simply to set a timer for 15 to 20 minutes, get in a comfortable position, close your eyes and begin breathing deeply.
Begin by taking five very deep breaths and count each breath as you exhale up to 5, then count down back to 1. Image yourself relaxing and going deeper and deeper as you count down to 1.
Deeper means that your leaving your thoughts behind and simply opening up to whatever comes.
Then count your breaths and as you breathe out count 1, then 2 for the next exhale, 3 and 4 and then start again. Do this until the timer goes off.
