me. It was not alright to cry or to show and express emotion. It was not acceptable.
Over the first several years, I was taught that feeling was not a good way to get what you want in life, so I built walls to protect me from feelings, even the good ones.
Now, 70 years later, I realize that feelings are my connection to my Leader Within and to my life. When I’m feeling joyful, I’m on purpose. I’m in the flow.
When I’m feeling uptight, or stressed, I’m hanging on. When I’m feeling depressed, I’m hanging on. When I’m feeling the joy of play, I’m on purpose.
Some describe happiness as the feeling that comes when your expectations are met. You have an agenda and life follows that agenda. By that definition, as soon as life doesn’t follow the agenda, you are unhappy.
And, as we all know, life throws curve balls. The point being that if you’re depending on life to follow your agenda, you will be disappointed a good part of the time. And pretty unhappy.
My intuition is constantly communicating, not just once in a while – all through my life, through my feelings, through my dreams.
